This was an interesting band I found while attending Rock the Park in London Ontario.  They had a small stage set up with all of the vendors at the end of the park playing between sets of top performers at the opposite end of the park.  All I could think was that’s a great idea.

They call their sound a swampy style of gypsy/pirate rock, I call it a soothing funk rock, something you can sit back and relax to.  Their live sound, sounds like a studio recording.  If you couldn’t see everything on and around the stage you would have sworn it was a CD.  But now for their songs.

Now I have to admit I couldn’t catch the name of their songs while they were playing but they have a lot of songs you can stream from their website.  I have to admit it sounds just like when they were performing.  Guns at Home is upbeat and the first thing I noticed was the bongo drums, and a gentle swaying to the beat.  Crash and Burn has kinda of a funk/blues feel to it, the sax is a nice complement in the song.  Another song that I likes was called Big Brother, this shows off a lot of their talent as you can hear a little bit of everything in this song.  It’s been a long time since I’ve heard the saxophone used in something other than blues music.  These guys have mastered a unique style and sound.

For an acoustic band I see a bright future for them and expect to hear a lot more from them.  They are something you can sit back and relax to.
